About the role
ForezynPlan's backend powers real-time financial forecasting for hundreds of organisations. As a Senior Backend Engineer you'll design and own the .NET services that ingest, transform, and serve financial data at scale. If you love distributed systems, clean APIs, and solving genuinely hard performance problems, this role is for you.
What you'll do
- Architect and build .NET microservices that process and serve financial data in real time
- Design database schemas and query strategies for high-throughput workloads
- Define RESTful API contracts in collaboration with frontend and integration teams
- Drive reliability improvements — SLOs, alerting, post-mortems
- Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering-wide technical standards
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience in production environments
- Deep expertise in C# and .NET (ASP.NET Core, Web API)
- Strong SQL Server or PostgreSQL skills — indexing, query planning, migrations at scale
- Experience designing RESTful APIs consumed by Angular or other clients
- Comfort owning services end-to-end, from design through to production monitoring
Nice to have
- Experience with event-driven architectures (Azure Service Bus, RabbitMQ, etc.)
- Knowledge of financial data models or accounting principles
- Familiarity with CQRS, MediatR, or Domain-Driven Design patterns
- Experience with multi-tenant SaaS architecture on Azure or AWS
